2/8 th of an Engineer..

I could have simplified the above title as 1/4 th of an engineer. Both being significant in their own way. The former depicting the eight semesters of academics while the latter highlighting the importance of the four years in college. I chose the former. Surely, I have my reasons.

The 1st year just zipped by. Each and every day was a learning experiance. Most of the 1st semester went exploring things in the college, the functioning of the 'system', ragging, getting up early in the morning to attend those boring lectures just to see whether a "P" has been marked in front of your name and yes getting used to the hostel life.

"The atmosphere was frightening. Each and every one of us trembled with fear. The waiting and anticipation as to what was going to happen next was over. The cool breeze swept past my face as i checked my watch. It was quarter to 4. Smash!! A hand struck my face with immense fury, power. I soon realised i wasnt supposed to wear my wrist watch".

The most enthralling part of the 1st year was undoubtably, ragging. The level of expectancy was enormous. Whoever said ragging should not be done, go and eat grass (that too dry) hah..

1st year subjects cannot be appreciated.. though there were exceptions.. the number of fights, arguments with ad-hocs cannot be counted simply because mathematics cannot define infinity.. i certainly do not wish to delve into the same.. hostel friends and life is beyond explaination, imagination as well.. right from studying in street lights at night to asking for water when it has run out while you are sitting in the loo (yea it was quite frequent) friends were there all the time..

this and many other "businesses", which i certainly cannot disclose (im sure you know what im talking about), basically took up my first year in college..
