The Bourne Sanction

Another fast, gripping novel by Robert Ludlum worth reading more than once. The action packed book has everything the doctor ordered..

The journey begins with Bourne working as an assistant to a professor in a university, he decides to live a normal life trying to shed the Bourne tag that had him running for his life from one country to another. However, ceratin circumstances prevail that entangles him in a web of conspiracy, deceit and lies. Bourne must dig deep and find out more about the people who put him in the web. He soon realises that he must follow a trail of murders to get to the root cause of them. With Bourne and his equivalent heading for a common goal, you just cannot stop reading until both converge..

Right from the skilful fight sequences to chases, the book catches Bourne at his very best. In fact, he has to be at his very best beacuse of some strong characters introduced in the book which are equivalent to him when it comes to brutal killing, fighting skills and serial killer instincts especially the viilain. The biggest and the most powerful character is undoubtedly the villain. To be very honest, the term villain does not appropriately describe the character mentioned above, but, if we have Bourne as the hero, all others have to be termed as villain.

One cannot wait for the movie to release. As if watching Bourne fight his way to know his real identity was exciting enough in the last 3 movies, having two of the same calibre would be a lot more than just icing on the cake. The villain might just overshadow Bourne in the movie quite analogous to what Joker did in the last Batman movie, The Dark Knight.

My verdict:- Highly Recommended.. It gets 4 on 5 tequilla shots..

A Literary Masterpiece

It took me a long time and most of the world to learn what i know about love and fate and the choices we make, but the heart of it came to me in an instant, while i was being chained to the wall and being tortured. I realized, somehow, through the screaming in my mind, that even in that shackled bloody helplessness, i was still free; free to hate the men who were torturing me, or to forgive them. It doesnt sound like much, i know. But in the flinch and bite of the chain, when its all you have got, that freedom is a universe of possibility. And the choice you make, between hating and forgiving, can become the story of your life..

6 times 'bowled over', 7th time out!!

my friends tell me i was stupid to do something like that.. my other friends say that i should keep on going on till i succed.. naturally, it is i who is supposed to take the call..
through this i will be able to put my frustration onto a better platform.. i might be able to come out of it.. i might get some help.. i will be able to reach out to people who have been subjected to such injustice..

proposing to a girl 7 times over, still holding your head up high and pretending nothing has happened is equivalent to Rakhi Sawant claiming she was offered "titanic" before Kate Winslet and she refused it because she had no dates for the movie.. Mind you, i got sympathies from everyone around me including the girl who i proposed to.. i cannot remember doing anything wrong during my journey towards eternal glory and happiness.. i did everything i could to impress her.. nothing worked.. i was, as a matter a fact, successful for the first 6 times.. successful to the extent that i was able to make her not say no.. hehe.. i have come up with two possible reasons as to why i failed..

1. Maybe she did not want it at all.. if this was the reason then she should have said no the 1st time itself.. i was then, in this case, a mere puppet.. naturally, i do not appreciate such behaviour.. i let it pass.. i remain silent till date..

2. Maybe i could not convince her properly.. i did try to convince her to the best of my abilities.. but i might have faltered somewhere.. however, i must admit that, when it comes to convincing a girl, boys generally falter.. we dont have the 'right' answer to the clever, difficult and baffling questions shot at us like bullets from the other end.. its like 5th graders listening to someone explaining Einstein's theory of relativity.. blank, clueless.. all i had to say was "i'll get back to you on that tomorrow".. then i ponder over the mind boggling queries.. they are tough.. i fail miserably.. i give in..

To be very frank with you, the 7 times proposition is a bit too exaggerated.. the fact is, i was never denied the first 6 times.. so i kept on trying.. probably inspired by Edison who failed a thousand times before he invented the light bulb.. just for the record, i am not planning to go up till 1000.. 7 is a record in itself..

In this entire post, you must have noticed that i am unsure about a lot of things i did and said.. thats cause i dont know what is right and whats wrong.. i dont think anyone would know that.. all one could say is, what best to say or do in order to win the race.. i have a lot of catching up to do..im still far behind..

The Morning Blues

Disclaimer :- This post is strictly categorized under "Gross/Disheveled".. Not for the faint hearted..I wonder if that category event exists.. Well If it doesnt, now it does..
Much has been said about hostel bathrooms and toilets.. And obviously, nothing has been done about it.. I'd like to call this post, the icing on the cake..

Our hostel bathrooms are in deplorable conditions. I am wondering how i'll be able to use those bathrooms for 10 full months.. Two wings. I reside in one of them. Each wing consisting of three floors. I reside on the top floor. Each floor consisting of 3 bathrooms, 3 toilets, 3 wash basins and 2 urinals. This is what i will call a unit. On an average, I calculated, roughly 20-25 ppl share one unit. Out of the 3 units on one floor, only one functions properly. So that makes 40 ppl share one unit with the assumption that the remaining ppl havnt still got up. ABSURD!! yeah..
I will not discuss the issues that i have against the toilets.. It is well beyond anyone's imagination. You have to see it, 'use' it to experience it. Hehe..

Morning is considered to be one of the most pleasant and soothing time. I am forced to think otherwise.. You get up, look around and you shall see people scampering about searching for water as if they are searching for an oasis in a desert.. What do i do?? Sitting in a difficult posture, a long anxious, desperate, hopeful wait follows.. I am helpless.. I just look out for some signal, nod from my friends that the door to freedom has opened (imagine a white light through that door).. I have become UNCOMFORTABLY NUMB..

Finally the long anxious wait is over.. I make my way into a tiny little cramped space ( I wont complain about the space. The problem is too trivial for me to get into the details of it. The only thing i would say is, a person of significant size would not fit in)..I ease my tension only to find a group of deadly looking mosquitoes hampering my biological process.. I manage.. I'll leave the rest for imagination..

Brushing is an altogether different experience.. You are 'enjoying' the process with 10 of your batch- mates. I am an optimist.. And hence i shall term this as socializing.. Issues such as which period is supposed to be bunked, ridiculing profs and their teaching methods, what book is supposed to be taken etc are discussed with the brush doing its job of cleaning our teeth.. It helps..

During the course of all these 'eventful' events, water plays the role of hide and seek.. Inconsistent water supply is something that i have got used to.. Wondering how i wash my hands?? I manage.. And just to keep the record straight, i maintain my hygiene to the highest levels.. Excuse us for shower.. That is something which i do not think of in the mornings.. As long as the other much comforting jobs are done, i am happy and most importantly "satisfied"..

Quotable Quotes

this is an incident which occured during my school days..
a teacher corrected answer sheets of his subjects and distributed it among students.. he distributed all, but one.. looking disgustingly at the answer sheet in his hand because it contained everything other than answers, he called out the name.. (the name has been changed to protect identity, not that it would matter much still..)

Teacher: "What is this, Vishal? What you have written is not at all relevant.. "
Vishal(enthusiastically) :"Sir, someone has said, Something is better than 'nothing' . "
Teacher : "Vishal, someone has also said," 'NOTHING', is better than NONSENSE!!".

2/8 th of an Engineer..

I could have simplified the above title as 1/4 th of an engineer. Both being significant in their own way. The former depicting the eight semesters of academics while the latter highlighting the importance of the four years in college. I chose the former. Surely, I have my reasons.

The 1st year just zipped by. Each and every day was a learning experiance. Most of the 1st semester went exploring things in the college, the functioning of the 'system', ragging, getting up early in the morning to attend those boring lectures just to see whether a "P" has been marked in front of your name and yes getting used to the hostel life.

"The atmosphere was frightening. Each and every one of us trembled with fear. The waiting and anticipation as to what was going to happen next was over. The cool breeze swept past my face as i checked my watch. It was quarter to 4. Smash!! A hand struck my face with immense fury, power. I soon realised i wasnt supposed to wear my wrist watch".

The most enthralling part of the 1st year was undoubtably, ragging. The level of expectancy was enormous. Whoever said ragging should not be done, go and eat grass (that too dry) hah..

1st year subjects cannot be appreciated.. though there were exceptions.. the number of fights, arguments with ad-hocs cannot be counted simply because mathematics cannot define infinity.. i certainly do not wish to delve into the same.. hostel friends and life is beyond explaination, imagination as well.. right from studying in street lights at night to asking for water when it has run out while you are sitting in the loo (yea it was quite frequent) friends were there all the time..

this and many other "businesses", which i certainly cannot disclose (im sure you know what im talking about), basically took up my first year in college..

Soccer at its best!!

the ongoing champions league has a been fun to watch.. great goals scored by great players, its been a bonanza for football lovers like me.. i never expected the quater-finals to be soo much exciting..

being a manchester united fan, the past few weeks havnt been the way i and other manchester united fans wanted to be, but i can proudly say now that we, ( from here on i own manchester cause i am the one buying their merchendise, right?) have clawed our way back.. not that we fell behind or anything( we were always number 1 in epl remember?) , still one can say there was a slight slip in form lately.. as a result the amount of taunts from fellow non- manu fan friends had increased to a great extent.. i was shaken, but not stirred.. i had faith in my team..

but now we are on our way towards glory.. epl title is just around the corner.. champions league greatly poised( im sure we are going to win even with the injuries hampering our defense).. one couldnt ask for more..

oh and fans of other clubs(porto, liverpool etc etc) go and eat grass..

ROTT!!

Hey.. the title here is quite appropriate to describe me and my blog.. thanks to mysterious, bizzare, unwanted events in my college and the obvious one (limited access to the net) has made me a handicapped person. Not that i have a lot of workload all day round, or any commitments (yeah right), its just the simple thing that after your dayz about to get over, you just sit on the net- put your thoughts together and start writing.. this is exactly whats missing in my life at the moment.. to be very honest i feel i have all the time in the world..

I could go to a cyber cafe every once in a while.. but staying in a hostel, financial conditions dont usually let you have such privilages.

Right now after ages i have sat on the net, using the wi-fi of another hostel (talk about desperation, huh). Not exactly putting my thoughts together. I would say not exactly the ideal conditions for someone to have a nice, creative, presentable blog. But because of my fondness for the english language, i write on...
